ZERO PLASTIC LUCBAN

The Town of Lucban, Quezon, in partnership with Got Heart Foundation, celebrated tradition and renewed their commitment to the environment as they proclaimed “Yaku sa Plastic: Balik Balulang, Lucban!”, a message that seeks to inform all Lucbanin of the efforts to lessen and eventually eliminate the use of plastic within the Municipality.

Resting on the importance of protecting our already fragile environment, Got Heart Foundation engaged important stakeholders to take the first, crucial step in managing waste by implementing the ZERO PLASTIC Lucban, a program supported by Municipal Ordinance 2008-03 entitled “An Ordinance Regulating the Use and Sale of Plastic Bags/Plastic Cellophane (Polyethylene) as Packing/Bagging Materials and Institutionalizing the Use of Biodegradable Containers within the Municipality of Lucban, Quezon.”

Being pioneered within Barangay Poblacion 4, MO 2008-03 and the Zero Plastic Program prohibits the sale, use and distribution of plastic pouches and bags in all business establishments in Lucban while encouraging the public to go back to the use of the traditional and environmentally-friendly bayong.

"It's the end of the world as we know it."

Reminds me of an R.E.M song but no way related to its theme. Anyways I like the movie because of the plot and its take on Armageddon or some chapters of Revelation regarding the new earth. Nice depiction of angels that whisper telepathically and mouth blurting blinding light. They look like transparent aliens with wings of light with cool space ships. Sun burst that can penetrate the ozone layer and earth crust that you can't escape from. Kahit saan ka man magtago. What missing I think are the fallen angels and their master and the second coming and His army of loyal servant angels. Not so scary movie but it will kept you wondering how the real as in totoong mangyayari sa atin sa panahon dumating ang ganoong event and when it will happen.

Sa palagay ko malapit na.

FrancisM....MMK

I remember when Francis Magalona came to our town to do a concert. It was free and for the campaign of retired general for Mayor. The son of the general was his close friend and neighbor in Mandaluyong. Wow, overwhelm kami; ako, kaibigan, barkada, kapitbahay at buong bayan. Biruin mo its a free concert and with a complete band setup. Wow, that's rock and rap. I thought before I'll see only a mic stand then they will play a minus one of his songs. I was wrong it was maangas and to think during those time concert where usually held on the municipal hall basta indoor places. The concert was held outdoor in front of the kiosko sa patio with a constructed platform. It was summer of 1992. Sixteen years ago.

The time when Eraserheads, The Youth, Yano, and other pinoy bands and the "rock" scene were still emerging and becoming popular as well as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, STP, etc.

The concert starts with a local rapper rapping his way thru a recorded keyboard drumbeat and performing his rap act monotonously shouting, "mente gali, mente gali."(Galing talaga ni pogi naaliw kami dun ah.)

Then Lo and behold...FRANCISM...shouting and blasting rap songs about life, politics and state of our corruptible nation. Wala sa hulog, walang bayag, walang sistemang bansa na ang mayayaman at matatakaw na politiko lang ang nakikinabang. Angst like FrancisM.
He performs most of his famous song and the ones on the present album during that time.
'Man from Manila', with the dancers. Yes, he got his dancers with him also. "Halalan", "Mga Kababayan", etc. basta mga sikat na kanta nya noong panahon na yon.
Basta ang galing galing talaga ni Francis, ng banda nya at ng mga dancers nya nung time na yun. Napakaastig. It was the best concert I've seen sa talambuhay ko. Libre, bago at ang galing. Combining rock with rap ala Rage Against The Machine. Socially and politically relevant. He got a DJ for mixing. Wow, he probably pioneered acts like Incubus or Sugar Ray or Linkin Park. Ahead of our time. And to think after that acts comes the hiphops vs rockers haters while he started already the merging or alternative pinoy rap and rock. Ah hiphop may dancing dancing and always pacute sa girls ibanyo mo si ana at si fe, i prefer rap.

Funny thing i remember during the concert one of my former highschool classmate
(i'm a college stud that time) actually raised his hand when FrancisM ask the audience if there's a 'Praning' in the crowd. I have to admit then 'what's praning?' got no idea until he do the song. Ah yun pala yun. And I've read thats this song was influence by "whiteline" an 80's breakdance song. Funny thing again, I've heard a reggae song i think that have the same beat and theme like it in bangkok while riding a bus. Does this song a ripped off of 'Mga Praning' or he rip off this song. Hmm..very intriguing indeed.

Before the concert theres a Motorcade around the town. I think its Francis second or third time coming there during the "Bagets" movie shoot. Its around 4pm in the afternoon.

My neighbor's sound systems or 'Mobile' as was it called before were set up on the event.
And I've heard that the wife of Francis don't want bootlegging of the concert but they did it anyway they put a live mic on stage while He was performing and I've heard them playing it after the day of the concert. It was so long ago i think the tape was lost and no copy was ever made. I asked my friend recently cause he got a sony recorder and recorded the concert it was lost also. No hope of finding remnants of history. But maybe...i'll ask again.

The event was very memorable. It was my first concert. The next concert I watch there was after 2 years and nothing compares to what FrancisM did. The general in his own right is honorable and gets elected Mayor. Francis might have added addt'l voters and fans.

Now comes the MJ addiction, the issue regarding this matter against him maybe the bad points to his good reputation. Either i believe it to be true or not we are weigh through all the things we do on this earth.

Let see FrancisM by his good side...

Mabuhay Ka FrancisM.

Journey with Arnel Pineda

"I heard you wanted that. That would have been an interesting twist.
For them to allow him [Perry] to hold the band hostage, and the money in '84 and '85 and every year thereafter because that '86 money could have been just a real Journey tour with just a replacement singer and this kid they have now [Arnel Pineda] can sing that material right now in the original keys in a very credible way and there's no way Steve Perry could touch that."

The Five Basic Needs of a Man

A wife makes herself irresistible to her husband by learning to meet his five basic needs:

1. His needs for admiration and respect. She understands and appreciates his value and achievements more than anything else. She reminds him of his capabilities and helps him maintain his walk with God and also his self-confidence. She is proud of her husband, not out of duty, but as an expression of sincere admiration for the man she loves and with whom she has chosen to share her life. (Ephesians 22:23,33)

2. His need for sexual fulfillment. She becomes an excellent sexual partner to him. She studies her own response to recognize and understand what brings out the best in her, then she communicates this information to her husband, and together they learn to have a sexual relationship that both find repeatedly satisfying and enjoyable. (Proverbs 5:15-29, Song of Solomon 4:9-5:1, I Cor 7:1-5, Hebrews 13:4)

3. His need for home support. She creates a home that offers him an atmosphere of peace and quiet and refuge. She manages the home and care of the children. The home is a place of rest and rejuvenation. Remember: the wife/mother is the emotional hub of the family. (Proverbs 9:13,19:13, 21:9,19, 25:24)

4. His need for her attractiveness. She is possessed of inner and outer beauty. She cultivates a Christ like spirit in her inner self. She keeps herself physically fit with diet and exercise, and she wears her hair, make-up, and clothes in a way that her husband finds attractive and tasteful. Her husband is pleased and proud of her in public, and also in private. (Song of Solomon 1:8-10, 2:2, 6:13, 7:9, I Peter 3:1-5)

5. His need for a life companion. She develops mutual interests with her husband. She discovers those activities her husband enjoys the most and seeks to become proficient in them. If she learns to enjoy them, she joins him in them. If she does not enjoy them, she encourages him to consider others that they can enjoy together. She becomes her husband's best friend so that he repeatedly associates her with the activities he enjoys most. (Song of Solomon 8:1-2,6)
